BORN TO PAINT THE WORLD AROUND ME
Passionate about drawing from an early age, I trained as a self-taught artist. I acquired artistic techniques by studying at the monasteries of Sakya Lhakhang Chemo (Tibet), Sera Je (India), and Sakya Gompa (India).
I mainly use watercolor because it combines elements of rawness, earthiness and purity. This concept reflects the faces I paint and refers to my childhood memories in Tibet where everything coexists in harmony and sacredness.
Never stop challenge yourself
In recent years I have also experimented with charcoal, using above all the “waste” of the barbecue embers, to bring out the beauty also present in waste materials. In addition, I use Indian ink for specific Tibetan calligraphy works

Always following the inspiration
I mainly paint portraits because they are important documents for me in a rapidly changing world. I use bright colors to capture the essence of Tibet and its people and to recall traditional Tibetan art.

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
“There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.”
“Black and white are the colors of photography. They symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is subjected.”
